- Check the printer's display for an error message and note it down.
- Make sure there's paper in the tray and the doors are closed.
- Restart the printer, then your computer or phone.
- Cancel all jobs in the print queue — see Clear a stuck print queue on Windows.
- Confirm you're printing to the right printer.
- Print the printer's own test or configuration page. If that works, the problem is the connection or your device.
- If it's a wireless printer, see Printer shows as offline.
