When a printer shows as offline, your computer can't reach it. The printer itself is usually fine.
Try these steps in order
- Check the printer is on and not showing an error on its display.
- Restart the printer, then restart your computer or phone.
- Make sure your device is on the same Wi-Fi network as the printer (not a guest network).
- Print a network configuration page from the printer's menu to confirm it is connected.
- Open your computer's print queue and cancel any stuck jobs.
- On Windows, open Settings › Bluetooth & devices › Printers & scanners, select the printer and choose Open print queue. If an option to “Use printer offline” is ticked, untick it.
- If it is still offline, remove the printer from your device and add it again.
If the printer recently changed network
If you replaced your router or changed the Wi-Fi password, the printer needs to be reconnected from its own control panel. See Reconnect a printer after a router change.
If none of this works, start a chat and an agent can go through it with you.
