Safety first: turn the printer off and unplug it before reaching inside. Some parts can be hot after printing — let it cool for a few minutes.
Remove the jammed paper
- Open the access doors your printer's manual or display points to (front, rear or inside the cartridge area).
- Hold the paper with both hands and pull slowly in the direction the paper normally travels.
- Look and feel for small torn pieces — even a scrap can cause repeat jams.
- Close all doors, plug the printer in and turn it on.
Prevent the next jam
- Fan the paper before loading and keep the stack under the tray's fill line.
- Slide the paper guides until they touch the stack without bending it.
- Don't mix paper sizes or types in one tray.
- Use paper that is dry and not curled.
If the printer still reports a jam when no paper is visible, contact us — the sensor or a small hidden scrap may need a closer look.
