Add a printer in Windows 11 or 10

Connect your computer to a network or USB printer using Windows' built-in tools.

  1. Make sure the printer is on and connected to the same network as your computer (or plugged in by USB).
  2. Open Settings › Bluetooth & devices › Printers & scanners.
  3. Select Add device and wait for your printer to appear.
  4. Select it and choose Add device.
  5. Print a test page from the printer's settings page.

If it doesn't appear

  • Select Add manually and choose to add a printer by its IP address. You can find the IP address on the printer's network configuration page.
  • Restart both the printer and the computer and try again.
